Today was fun. ^^
First we went to a picnic that was organized by some people from the college that Cinna's going to be attending. (She leaves next Saturday. It's scary.) Just a little get together so that the people in our state who are going there could meet up and get to know each other a little. It was fun, I thought.
But the other thing was the best part. One month from today (September 14), Dad turns 50. (I was born exactly 30 years after him.) So because it's such a milestone, Mom enlisted my sisters' and my help, and we planned a surprise party at a nearby diner - just a small thing, some family and friends. (A month ahead of time because two of us will be off in college on the day of.) Dad was completely clueless for the entire thing, and we managed to pull it off! And he seemed like he enjoyed himself, even if people gave him all sorts of teasing gifts.
I'm glad he enjoyed himself. And it was good to see everyone, too. Like A and N - we haven't seen them in forever!
My sisters and I had a short discussion afterward about maybe taking a day trip to the Japanese market some time in this coming week before Cinna leaves. I'd be the one to drive (unless Mom was willing but I don't know if she would be), which is the only thing (besides scheduling) that's made it a question mark - I'm not very confident still, especially with parking - but if it's with them, I'm willing to do it. I've never driven that far in one go, but if I don't do it someday, I never will. So I hope we can do that.
...And finally, for the (probably) less than half of my friends list that hasn't seen it yet, Gauntlet is having a 4th Wall Event this weekend! Sticking the Susukodama in random places is fun!
