Back~
I have returned from the beach!
It was really relaxing, as always. I love being by the water. And I found the most interesting rock that had washed up - it's black, but surprisingly light-weight for its size, and it's kind of got a polished sheen to it. Mom says it might be coal - wouldn't surprise me, since I've never actually seen any before... Still pretty cool though. But it's nice to be home, too.
Family was... family. My great-uncle (I think?) T. needs to realize that Mom's been taking losing our dog really hard, the hardest of all of us - she's called him many times her son, and she rather meant it! - and we'll be getting the new puppy because it's too quiet without a dog in the house, so he shouldn't be interrogating her about why we're getting a new puppy or the fact that we're getting a pure-bred and not from the shelter. He's not a dog lover [understatement], sure, but that doesn't excuse his behavior.
And the male cousin trio needs to learn that people are supposed to knock on the door, be polite, and pay attention to others when they address you, and that there are other things to life besides Pokemon. Seriously, that's ALL I saw them doing or talking about. (At least, the older two. The youngest was having too much fun knocking over block towers that he built. Loudly.)
Also, does EVERYONE need to ask about c*llege? Constantly? I know it's coming, but the asking of 'what dorm will you be in' or 'what classes will you be taking' repeatedly when I don't know the answers yet is really annoying.
Not to mention what happened on the other side of the family on the fourth, with finding out that Aunt A and Heck Pig haven't done what they said they would... but I'll content myself with fantasies about what would happen if Magic: the Gathering worked the same way in real life as Duel Monsters does in GX...
In unrelated news, I'm dropping Jeremie tonight - made the decision to do so a couple nights ago, actually. I'd been trying to keep him a little longer, but I don't think I can do it anymore. He'll make one more post, just to say that he's not a mechanical chicken anymore, and then the drop will be submitted.
I'm going to start working a lot on Lost Heaven after tonight, I think. I mean, even more than usual - I'm going to put FiD on a bit of a break for a while so I can work on it (not that I've had much inspiration for it lately anyway - next chapter is proving tough to start). I've already decided that my next app will be Manjoume from that universe, but I told myself I'd get as far in the fanfic as I'm pulling him from before I app him this time, so... At least I have the majority of it already written out thanks to past events? The appearance, personality, strengths, weaknesses, and notable possessions are all filled out, as well as the majority of the history to a point. (Which is 9 pages and counting in and of itself - sorry mods, this one will be longer than usual... a lot longer...)
By my current estimate, it should take me about... six, maybe seven more chapters before I get where I want to be. So it'll be a while still. But that's what I'll be doing, I think.
