Robyn's China Trip - Day 6

Jul 14, 2011 08:47

For the next couple of days Robyn will be staying at the Xian Hotel.

Xi'an used to be China's capital city and in ancient times was called "Chang'an" translated as "Perpetual Peace".

The delegates will be honored with a welcome ceremony at the city gate by residents in full costume representing warriors and city officials. The ceremony is reminiscent of the Tang Dynasty tradition welcoming foreign envoys as they arrived in Xi'an.

They will visit a local school to get a kids-eye view of what life in Xi'an is like. They will also be challenged to a friendly game of soccer/basketball. And then have dinner with the students at the school's canteen.
