The weekend that recharged me in so many different ways.

i spent all day Saturday and Sunday taking a class from Deane Juhan, a body worker, teacher and author famous in the body work end of the universe. It was a physically demanding, mentally challenging and incredibly recharging experience for me. I kept thinking to myself, "Wow, I already do a lot of this," while at the same time thinking, "Oh my God, my work is going to change completely," as we went through the class, working through issues presented by each of the students.

Physically, i am at once wrung out like after two days of intensive Aikido and transformed. My posture is so much better, my breathing capacity feels like it's at least a third bigger and I have so much range of motion, particularly focusing through my chest and back that I didn't have.
I performed my first massage in my practice this morning, and found myself seamlessly integrating things from the weekend, almost without thought. The feedback I got was tremendously positive, though as this was a new client, I didn't have a basis of comparison, but I'm looking forward to several appointments this week with regulars, as I have new tools to bring them.
I was also reminded of the value of openness. There were no secrets kept, nothing held back, nothing kept from inquiring minds. There were mysteries a-plenty that I will be unraveling for a long time. There was no looking to the past, only the present and forward. There was free interchange between teacher and students, and Juhan made no secret of the fact that he was learning as much from us as we from him, including new applications of the principles he was teaching us.
Those of you in the Feri (spelling of choice) world reading this, I was sharply reminded that this is the world I choose to give my energy to, a world of open interchange and forward-looking. Your politics can solve themselves, i have more important things to do.
