What I really wrote....
Dear John,
I don’t want to lead you on and make it seem as though something more will develop between you and I. The more I’ve been dating and hanging out it has become so obvious to me that I’m not ready to settle down and commit to a relationship. This came from my blind side because I truly thought that “relationship status” is what I wanted. It’s been awhile since I had this type of independence and for now I’d just like to enjoy it. As selfish as it may sound I still have to be upfront with you; and it wouldn’t be fair otherwise. It was so nice meeting you and hanging out for the short time that we did and I wish you all the best in finding someone special.
Best,
Bridge
What I really wanted to write.....
Hi Dorkatron:
I TOTALLY led you on and made it seem as though something more would develop between you and I. What can I say? I’m a total selfish bitch who needed some bootie. You should consider my desperation to get laid an act of kindness. The more I’ve been dating and hanging out it has become so obvious to me that you are a total freak fest. I am truly ready for “relationship status” just not with you. Also, I’m not willing to settle down and commit to a relationship, especially with someone who claims they can see a person’s past life while kissing and that their sister is a clairvoyant. Anyhow, I’d rather be home alone on a Saturday night crying at Hallmark commercials than spend another minute with you. Frankly, you creep me out and I’m embarrassed to be seen in public with you. As selfish as it may sound, I still have to be upfront with you. It wouldn’t be fair otherwise. It was so weird meeting you that I regret every minute we’ve hung out together. Lose my phone number and email for that matter. Good luck finding someone “special”. (that good luck should be read in a sarcastic tone)
Best,
