OOC: Infodump of DOOM
Bridge in Canon: Bridge has just about any psychic ability you can think of, with the exceptions of astral projection or the ability to project thoughts. He can read thoughts, emotions, and auras, has both pre- and postcognitive abilities, and can recieve visions via touching people/objects (psychometry). Like Z, his abilities are the result of a lab accident at SPD before he was born.
He's something of a mechanical genius, which I've put my own little Fandom-y spin on and will get in to later.
Bridge is... eccentric. He rambles. He stands on his head to think. He often picks up on things his teammates don't- not just because of his abilities, but because he *thinks* differently, and approaches everything from a different perspective. In canon, the major character arc for Bridge is his teammate's gradual acceptance of the fact that when he says something's wrong with a situation? Something. Is. Wrong.
Also, in canon, Bridge did not meet Z Delgado until Cruger had her and Jack Landors arrested and then gave them the opportunity to become Power Rangers not five minutes later. This is but one of the many WTF-ish things that Z-mun and I are trying to fix, so here's where I split off and talk about...
Bridge at Fandom: Bridge is fairly open about his abilities here in Fandom, because he's figured out that for the most part, people are not freaked out by the fact that he has them, unlike back at home. He also makes a point not to *use* his powers unless he's ICly been invited to do so, someone is acting strangely enough to warrant a scan (in which case, it'll be cleared OOC with the player first), or he's tracking/fighting bad guys. Because he has imperfect control over his abilities- he can control what *aspect* of them he's using at any given time, but he can't actually turn them off- he always wears a pair of leather gloves, since his abilities are mostly channeled through his hands. As a result, he has a bit of an issue with skin-on-skin touching, but for the most part, he doesn't let this stop him. As evidenced by the fact that he routinely gets away with hugging the kinds of people one would expect to... not welcome it.
Much of the growth from insecurity into self-assurance that he experienced in the series has already happened here at Fandom High, thanks to, well... many things. Dating and falling in love for the first time, forming close friendships with people outside of his teammates, and being involved in many of the invasions/other fighty plots that have happened in the last year.
And now I come back to Bridge and Z. So instead of Z becoming a Ranger right away like she did in canon, instead she was offered the chance to enlist and was sent to Fandom (more details on what this means here, in Z's post).
As for the mechanical genius thing? The way this works in Fandom, there's some sort of magic that happens when Bridge fixes/builds things with parts he's found around Fandom. They dispense candy and other forms of junk food. Don't ask how. It just happens. Accept it.
Every once and a while, when he's really, really bored, Bridge leads adventures up to the sixth floor. They're open in the sense that anyone is welcome to come on one at some point, but closed in the sense that I like to, for my own sanity's sake, figure out who will be going before I actually start the post. I'm mentioning this now because there *is* an adventure planned for tomorrow, but what it really is is plottiness disguised as an adventure, so y'all are not missing out on any of the regular wackiness. BTW, if you want to get an idea of what the regular wackiness actually *is*? Click the "sixth floor" tag in the dorms comm, and it should bring up all the adventures. For the most part, we do try to finish them and not let them dwindle into FTB-y oblivion, but I think one or two of them never actually ended *sheepish look*.
