Over the last couple of weeks, I have been participating in a Facebook challenge to list as my status one thing I am thankful for each day, leading up to Thanksgiving. Here is a review of my list (it's in reverse order, so to start with the Day 1, begin at the bottom)...
Thanksgiving Challenge (Nov 26): Today I am thankful I took advantage of the opportunity I’ve had over the last 11 days to write about what I’m thankful for. It’s made me a more grateful person overall.
Thanksgiving Challenge (Nov 25): Today I am thankful for music. And thankful to like so many different kinds of music--it means that no matter my mood, I can always find just the right tune for the moment.
Thanksgiving Challenge (Nov 24): Today I am thankful for honest and open communication. Too bad it is such a dying art when it comes to how most people relate to each other these days.
Thanksgiving Challenge (Nov 23): Today I am thankful for the power of imagination and creativity in my life. I should really spend more time allowing myself to embrace them; because whenever I do, I wind up really inspired which helps me get through whatever else is on my to-do list (fun or required).
Thanksgiving Challenge (Nov 22): Today I am thankful for modern medicine, the doctors who use their knowledge and talent to treat, the researchers who work behind the scenes to find cures, and the power of prayer which has its own role in helping heal us.
Thanksgiving Challenge (Nov 21): Today I am thankful for weekends. No more explanation needed. :-)
Thanksgiving Challenge (Nov 20): Today I am thankful for Mother Nature and her daily efforts to remind us of the beautiful world she provides us with. If you haven't taken the time lately to stop and notice, you really should, whether it is simply taking the longer way home or just opening the window to hear the birds chirp.
Thanksgiving Challenge (Nov 19): Today I am thankful for my family. My immediate family (Mom, Stepdad and sisters) plus my huge extended family help me remember where I'm from, keep me grounded to who I am now, remind me to avoid pretending to be anything I'm not, but most importantly they keep encouraging me as I work towards becoming who I want to be.
Thanksgiving Challenge (Nov 18): Today I am thankful for my job, earning enough to have a place to live and food to eat, plus my ability to budget and run my finances so I can actually follow through with my choice to donate to causes I care about (even if it is a tiny amount, it is what I can afford and I know I'm sending something out into the world to do good).
Thanksgiving Challenge (Nov 17): Today I am thankful that I was taught early on in life that success requires hard work, dedication, faith, and resiliency (plus a little luck-but you sure can't depend on that part!).
Thanksgiving Challenge (Nov 16): Today I am thankful for friends that care about me and how their posts, emails, letters, and calls always seem to come at just the right time. Not sure I remember to do enough to reciprocate, but I'll always keep trying.
