So, a few things to come out of the London trip:
1) My love for the new Bond movie knows no bounds. I don't know how it was getting luke-warm reviews, because I damn well loved it. No one looks better in a dirty tuxedo than Daniel Craig. Mmm, mmm, good. He and Viggo could get together and have the we-don't-wash-because-we-don't-have-to Olympics.
2) British Air food sucks. This was sad, because ten years ago, it was awesome. What happened????
3) What do I love about my friends in London? The fact that I brought them home-made t-shirts from Kingston and they all wore them all the time. What else are four doctors (okay, 3 1/2 because Duff still has to finish the thesis) to do while hanging out and eating chocolate?
FYI, The t-shirt slogans:
'Shwa This
Tea Is Not A Food Group
Bond Girl
and my own,
You Remind Me Of The Babe
I am so bloody predictable.
4) In my new red doctoral robes and plumed hat, I could be a troubadour at Medieval Times. I'm rocking the 15th century like nobody's business!
5) British coverage of the American election didn't even attempt to be objective. The cameramen broke into applause when it was announced that Obama had clinched it. I woke up at 4:45am just to watch. Sweet.
6) Once a researcher at the Imperial War Museum, always a researcher at the Imperial War Museum
7) The 188 is the grooviest bus in London.
8) There are few things better in this world than having a good gab with the girlfriends. Our topics of choice: testicles (actually, truck nuts -- Jesus God) and childbirth. With pizza. And gin.
9) Waitrose is a beautiful oasis of grocery-dom. Also loved being back in the Forbidden Planet Cult Entertainment Megastore, though I was pissed off they didn't have all the Buffy comics I needed. Serious grrr.
10) I really missed my boyfriend the whole week. Next time!
