I do not understand the current fad of creating single mash up names for famous couples, like Bennifer (Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez) and Brangelina (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie). It seems like anytime there’s a famous couple, someone tries to make a mashup name for them. In general, I do not approve of this, as I think losing your identity to a relationship is one of the most dangerous things you can do. (However, I will confess that I love the name Shamy for Sheldon and Amy on Big Bang Theory, but only because it FITS THEM SO WELL!).
Over on Person of Interest the hot couple for a lot of people is Rinch (Reese + Finch). I don’t even own slash goggles, and I can see where people get it from. Ye gods, they’ve got a serious bromance going on.
But the one that made me roll my eyes this weekend was finding out that the fannish ship name for Castle and Beckett is Caskett. Good Lord. *eyeroll*
