ReenactorFest Day - Quick Drive-by post

Feb 05, 2012 08:55

Overslept because I forgot to pack an alarm clock and the one in my room didn’t go off, even though I thought I set it. Buffet breakfast with Alena, then Stephen in the Atrium. Bought patterns from Reconstructing History and shopped for an hour. Then ended up in five hours of seminars/panel discussions (usually there aren’t any that interest me!). Then back to the dealer’s room for more shopping, but mostly hanging out with the Bristol gang. This year they had indoor encampments because we have a huge cavernous exhibit hall. The Bristol boys set up a tavern (need to try to remember to get pictures today!), and I spent a lot of time there, hanging out, chatting with old friends and making friends with the new faces.

We somehow dropped the ball on dinner. We always go out with the Bristol gang, but this year I failed at cat herding. We ended up at the same restaurant, but totally by happenstance, so we ended up at different tables. By the time the Grand Ball started, I was out of energy, so I sat and watched the promenade, scoped out the gowns, then scooted upstairs and was in bed at a reasonable hour.

Which explains why I woke up crazy early this morning, even without the alarm. Oh well, it gives me time to pack AND shop before I have to check out.
