WTF Wednesday - Bank fees
While I was sorting through the mail today, I opened the statement for my savings account. Back when I was in college I had an account at a Credit Union on the seacoast. I’ve kept the account open after I moved, even though I’m not really near a branch anymore, because I’d rather save at a bank where it’s inconvenient to make withdrawals (yes, all part of my cunning plan). So I direct deposit my savings in to that credit union, and the rest of my paycheck into my local credit union.
Those sneaky bastards implemented a “paper statement fee” of $2.00 at some point over the summer (I checked, it’s showed up on this statement and the one before). So every month I’m basically losing money, because the fee is more than the pitiful interest I’m making on my savings account.
So now I have to decide if I want to go paperless. *sighs* I really like getting my statement in the mail every month and seeing my little nest egg grow. =(
