Ugh, I hate having to say No

I just e-mailed the place in Andover that made a verbal offer of a contract job (flocked) that, hey, I’ve been waiting for over a week (12 days) now for written confirmation of this job offer and haven’t heard anything from either you or the staffing company that you said would be hiring me. So when someone else offered me a full-time job, in writing, with benefits and everything, of course I took it.

I know the recruiter is going to be pissed. She should have followed up with an e-mail at the very least. Given me the name of someone at the staffing company. Done something more than leave me hanging for over a week. I mean, even if I hadn’t been hoping to land one of the two full-time places I was interviewing at (and she knew I was interviewing elsewhere, she asked me about that and I told her) I would still be wondering WTF was going on with them wanting me to start immediately and then suddenly going completely radio silent and not communicating with me?

I just hate letting people down. But really, in this case, it’s her own damned fault.
