I have been felled by little tiny baby germs

Baby Percy started day care last week, so of course the very first day he brought back a cold. Saturday we were all admiring his ability to blow giant snot bubbles out of his nose and still manage to be a cheerful, curious baby, despite the runny nose and occasional short coughing bits.

We all took turns playing with him so that A. could look at the menu, order, eat, and participate in the knife fighting workshop. Since I’d had a bad night of insomnia during the week, my brain’s ability to concentrate shorted out sooner than usual, and I spent some time at the end of the workshop bouncing on a balance ball making googly faces at the wee germ carrier. Because he’s a baby, how bad could his cold be? He hasn’t been exposed to as many colds as adults, so of course he’s going to come down with every germ he meets, because they’re all new to him, right?

Wrong.

I have been felled by tiny baby germs. I came home sick at lunch today, and I’m headed to bed for a nap.

I’m so sick of being sick. This winter can end any day now.

argh!, health
