We've been at this since Monday. Well, we've been at her room since Monday. And I don't think it'll ever end. It is endless. And relentless. And just really, really gross. Like, unbelievably gross. Everything I've ever said about to the child about her room has apparently never been absorbed. Because the room was just exceedingly messy.
But we've spent days taking boxes and bags of her stuff out of her room. Soon, we'll start moving furniture about, dusting, cleaning floorboards and vacuuming. Maybe, by tonight, we'll be able to get about half her stuff back into her room. I'm really ready to reclaim my house.
The dining room is just piles and piles of books and clothes and old notebooks filled with writings and poems and stories and songs. There are so many bags of garbage and recycling that I don't even know what's what. Plus, there are a number of piles of things - games, books, clothes, trinkets, tchotchkes, etc. - that we want to give away. Hopefully, someone else will find a use for them.
If you ever have kids, never give them anything. And if you give them something, make sure they give you at least two things in return to chuck and/or recycle. /cynicism
Oh, and together, we're discovering Grey's Anatomy. It's enjoyable. It's not anything that I would consider Emmy-worthy or exceptional storytelling. But it's solid. It's not nearly as procedural as House or CSI, but it lacks the overreaching story arcs of Buffy and Veronica Mars. And we both love George so very, very much. Cause he's a hopeless dork.
