I ran all kinds of errands this morning, while barely functioning. Went to weekend clinic, got groceries, bought some books, filled prescription, made arrangements with sister-in-law about meeting tomorrow, stopped off at Lush and picked up some essentials and other things to make me feel better and received call from company about delivering my luggage.
Despite desperately needing sleep, I waited for luggage to be dropped off. I've checked through the contents and everything is in good condition, including the insanely fragile, blown-glass vase that I picked up in Florence. Phew. I'm going to take pictures of the gifts, because they remind me of good times and because some of them are exquisite.
I'm now loading the pictures I took of my travels to my computer. Dude, I took 871 photos. That's a lot. Thank goodness for digital cameras. Could you imagine how many roles of film that would take?
And for a day that's gone spectacularly well considering how out of it and exhausted I am, the best news was yet to come. S just called me. From her home here in Edmonton. She called and we talked and I can almost reach out and hug her she's so close. She's alive and okay and not bombed to bits. And the rest of her immediate family is here, too. They're all okay. They're exhausted and scarred but okay. I haven't stopped crying since we hung up. This is what relief feels like.
