(no subject)
My car died yesterday on my way to work. The transmission blew or went or whatever. I had hoped to get it to last until early August, but well, that's no longer a possibility. It's not worth repairing and I can no longer sell it. So, somehow between now and tomorrow, I have to think of how to get it from work to somewhere else.
I'm going to be renting a car for the next week and then, my ex wants to give me his car. It's a newish Saturn. It's not the first time he's offered it to me. However, it's a stickshift. And I? Have only driven automatic cars. So, I have to get lessons in that, as well.
I know I should embrace my vehicle-less life. But Edmonton isn't the kind of city that lends itself well to that kind of lifestyle. The public transit is a bit of a joke here. And I work much too far away to not drive. I hate being dependent on a vehicle.
At any rate, things should be fine. A friend will pick me up shortly to pick up my rental. And things will be fine.
Only 12 more hours until I can see the season finale of Veronica Mars. I'm going to choose to think about that right now. So. Excited.
