The best way to culminate a Saturday, which has so far comprised of working a 5-hour shift from 7 to noon and volunteering at the child's dance school while trying to stave off a potential migraine is to babysit a 16-month old toddler. Overnight. Ah yes.
Except, it's kind of fun. She's been mostly giggly so far and I'm having to remember how to childproof a home. Soon, we'll have dinner and, hey, unlike the child, she'll actually eat my vegan cooking. And maybe watch some tv. Her mom was kind enough to send along a Baby Einstein disc and to remind me of the Badger, Badger, Badger website, which will stop even a major crying fit.
However, since I'm exhausted, I hope she'll be willing to konk out early tonight. Cause I need sleep like you wouldn't believe.
That said, I managed to finish The Kite Runner earlier today and it is one of the best books I've ever read. You all should read it. It's riveting and exquisite.
