2. I'll reply and give you five questions to answer.
3. You'll update your LJ with the five questions answered.
4. You'll include this explanation.
5. You ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed. And it just keeps going, and going, and going....
And these are the questions she asked me:
1. You get a 30-minute interview with the creator of an amazing TV show...is it Joss Whedon or Rob Thomas?
This is such a hard one. But in the end, I'd go wtih Rob Thomas. I have some really specific questions I'd like to ask him about Veronica Mars, the episode, A Trip to the Dentist, and the fallout from that.
2. You're allowed to bring only one book, one CD and one DVD on a deserted island. What are your picks?
Michael Ondaatje's Anil's Ghost, Matthew Good's Avalanche and the VM dvds.
3. What's a typical vegetarian Christmas meal like?
I don't know what a typical vegetarian Christmas is like. I'm hardly typical. I don't tend to plan traditional menus for holidays. I've served fairly diverse dishes on both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
This year, a friend has invited me and the child to her place for Christmas and so I'll eat what she makes (that's vegan). And I'm responsible for my main course. I haven't yet decided what to make, but
red lentil roulade with chestnut stuffing
lentil dough
1 1/2 cups red lentils or yellow split peas
3 gloves garlic, minced
2 cups fresh bread crumbs
3 tbs water or fresh lemon juice
1/s tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
2 tbs soft margarine or oil
chestnut stuffing
1 tbs veggie oil
2 medium onions chopped ( 2 cups)
1 cup finely chopped red pepper
1 1/2 cups canned peeled chestnuts (or freshly roasted chestnuts that you need to peel yourself, it's little more work)
2 cups fresh bread crumbs
1/4 cup chopped fresh sage
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
lentil dough:
cook lentil in 2 1/2 cup of water 'til done and water is absorb. when done transfer lentil to food processor add garlic, bread crumbs, lemon, salt and pepper and process until mixture becomes smooth, pliable dough. transfer the dough on parchment paper and pat into an 11 by 14 inch rectangle.
stuffing:
heat oil in skillet. add onion and bell pepper and cook for 7 minutes. remove from heat and transfer into food processor. add rest of the ingredients and pulse on and off until well blended.
spread chestnut mixture on top of the lentil dough. starting with short end start rolling up the dough and press firmly if needed. transfer the roulade onto light greased baking sheet. rub with margarine or oil. bake 'til heated through for 15-20 minutes at 350F. is a possibility. It sounds really good and I love chestnuts.
4. Lilly Kane shows up as you ghost of Christmas...future. What will she show you?
I have no idea. But I'm scared. I'm hoping that she'll show me out of debt for the most part, maybe owning a house with a pretty and functional garden (lots of fresh herbs), perhaps involved with someone and having a larger family. Oh, and I'll have Master's degree. I'd like to think that I'd found some sense of peace and well-being and that I was content with myself and my life.
5. What song do you think of as the soundtrack of your life?
Our Lady Peace's Are You Sad?
