What a weekend

I spent about eight hours total yesterday in transit, with breaks and such. We ran a few last-minute errands before getting onto the highway. It was just over 600 kms that I drove, there and back. And I kept surprisingly close to the speed limit. Moreso between 105 and 115 kms (the highways I was driving on are secondary highways and have a posted 100 km/hour limit), as opposed to my usual 135 to 150 km/hour usual highway speed. Alas, the first speeding ticket I ever got was on a previous trek to Hanna, so I kept it as close to legal as I could possibly stand it.

By the time I got home, unwound, rested and such, it was time to leave for my friends' place. We watched a few Veronica Mars eps - the pilot and The Wrath of Con. My friends wanted to know which episodes I felt were the most important and my choices were the following: the pilot, The Wrath of Con, Return of the Kane (ep 6), An Echolls' Family Christmas (ep 10), eps 12 through 15 and then 19 through 22, because of the arcs. Course, watching Betty and Veronica (ep 16) this afternoon, I'm, like, how can I not include this one? I love the friendship between Wallace and Veronica.

So, I think we'll be watching a selection of the above until the new season starts. Just another 5 weeks. I can handle that. Right?

Otherwise, a friend picked me up for lunch today. We ate at Organic Roots Café, which has an excellent selection of vegan food. We shared a roasted veggie sandwich, he had a bowl of Thai vegetable soup and I had a bowl of daal soup. He also had a salad. I had a chai latte, minus the honey and the dairy, but with vanilla soy milk. Spent a couple of hours talking and then he asked me to go to Fringe with him. He's never really in the province when Fringe is on, as he's always here earlier in the summer. But this year, he spent more time out here due to family commitments.

We didn't really do much there. I got a bottle of water, as it was warm out (about 33C) and quite sunny. There was a lame-ass magic show going on, which reminded me of GOB. We mostly ignored it and talked some more. We viewed a few of the merchant tents and headed back to the car, as I had to be somewhere by 4:30 and we weren't anywhere near it.

Anyway, after my errand, he dropped me off at home and he headed back to his sister's place. And I've done nothing spectacular since then. I've had dinner, relaxed a little and am now about ready to crash. So tired.

I doubt I'll start watching Battlestar Galactica today, as I'm spent. I hadn't planned on spending the whole day with B, but since we'd yet to see each other since he arrived in Alberta and he's leaving on Tuesday, there was little choice. BSG can wait for another day.

And now, I'm going to crash and watch some Sports Night.
