Sensory Overload

Lush had a thing tonight, so I went. They were introducing a new line of skin care products. And for being as reclusive as I've been, it felt good to go out and laugh. Plus, it's Lush.

As I had rsvp'ed, there was a gift bag there for me. And I picked up some Karma and Sea Vegetable soap, as well as a Buffy body bar (it's excellent for my overly dry skin along my arms and legs, as it's very moisturising). And because they gave me tickets for a raffle, which left some time to spare, I happened by one of their stations and tried out a facial scrub, Cupcake (I think), that was to die for. So, I bought that, too, as well as the Breath of Fresh Air toner.

At this point, I opened my gift bag and there was a whole whack of little samples. All of which I'm going to have to check out online to see if they're vegan friendly. However, there was a big thing of soap - I forget the name - and a Gingerman bathbomb, except in the form of a gingerbread man. The one girl, who remembered that I was a vegan and that I watch Buffy, doublechecked them both for me.

Alas, I didn't win the draw, but I did partake in lots of fun conversation - something I find can be challenging - and spent way too much money. I may also have converted someone new to Veronica Mars. So, yay! (And A, if you're reading, hi!)

I came home and washed my face, used the toner and then the facial scrub. Seriously. To die for. Plus, the scrub smells like chocolate cake. So good.

I'm such a Lush-ee. I just can't wait for the toothpaste.

I also picked up some foreign and indie film rentals at Alternative Video Spot. Including Hal Hartley's No Such Thing. I wanted to rent Lukas Moodysson's Together, but I couldn't remember the title. They did, however, have Fucking Amal, so they knew who he was. I also picked up Jules et Jim, Central Station, Rosetta and a film I've been dying to see again, La double vie de Véronique. (But more about that another time.)

No film viewage will ensue, however, until a certain GG fic has been betaed and returned to its author. Who has been exceedingly patient and generous to me.

And the best thing? On the way home, the radio played The Smiths' How Soon is Now.

indie films, the smiths, lush, rampant consumerism, fanfic, foreign films, beta, beauty products
