But seriously, the whole situation is so funny, being able to mock it shouldn't award me any points.

My guess for its future? It won't implode so much as explode, and a lot of people will leave the boards, and the dust will settle and the same old people will stick around (some of the mods, a few of the shit-stirrers who will never be done, the ass-kissers, the truly oblivious) with many good people leaving. And then there will be a re-building period, in which more 12 year old girls sign up for the boards, and then everything will chug along, to be puctuated now and again by "Remember when _______ posted here? And ______ ? Good times." and "This board was so much better when _______ and _______ used to post."

They think they are incapable of falling into basic Message Board patterns. It is quite odd.
