Life from a five-year old's perspective

Dec 22, 2010 10:22

Connor is in the hall talking to Nana telling her that he’ll be six next week and then I hear him singing the months of the year song. Nana asks him how old he’ll be *next* December and he replies that he’ll be seven.

Chris pipes up from the other room with: “You can’t be seven, you’re going to stop at six, ok?”
Connor pauses briefly: “…Why?”
All three adults pretty much collapse in mirth at that point. He’s so cute and innocent!
After hearing the laughter Connor cottons on to the fact that we’re teasing him and tells Chris: “No! You’re just kidding!”
Chris: “Well what age do we stop counting for you, then?”
Connor: “You can stop counting when I’m dead.”

Ain’t that the truth.
