This week has been so tiring. My finals have been dragged out far longer than they should have been. Everyone else got to get it all over within a few days, and people are starting to go home. Not me. My first final was microcomputing on Friday, which I got an 80% on. Oh, happy day! I got to that test, found out that 40% of the grade was excel modeling in 5 parts, and nearly cried because that is my worst possible area and I pulled a few all-nighters trying to finish a project in it. Ironic part: I got a 100% on that part and lost points on the multiple choice. Meh. I'm happy: the perfect score in modeling was a personal triumph, I did so much better than I thought I would, and I am proud of that. Accounting yesterday morning at 9:00 am was anything but good. The word that I have been using to describe the accounting final was "bloodbath." Financial accounting, from what I have heard from the upperclassmen, is one of those finals that you go into expecting to fail miserably, so you just try to fail by as little as possible. The test started out ok, but as soon as I hit the question "True or False: Amortization of a $12,000 discount on a bond will have no effect upon future interest cost and income taxes" I knew I was done for. Papa Diddy...I hate you.
Government is tonight at 7:00. I feel ready for that. It's pretty straightforward. He gives you 5 possible essays topics beforehand, he'll choose 2 of them right in front of you, and you have 2 hours to write about it. Not worried.
Food and Beverage on Thursday evening at 7:00. It's the last possible exam time of the week. I'll have 2 blank days to just focus on that though, and that's a really easy class to study for. It's like a history class. But yeah, not happy that I started finals on one of the first days, and I'm ending on the very last. People are finishing up and leaving all around me. Gah. I WANNA GO HOME!!!!!
Looks like I'm leaving on Friday around 1:00 or 2:00. Plan is to go home, practice driving, get a hair appointment because I need a haircut and highlight BADLY, and relax for the weekend. For next week Mom has signed me up for 3 lessons with a professional driving school to get my driving up to scratch, then an additional one after I get back from California just to brush up before the test. I really need to pass this! Arthur has been majorly pushing my license for a while now. He wants me bell staff trained. I'll get to work with Wendy and Dylan. Yay!
Also while I'm home, I've been dared by Jen to show up at Mercy at some point dressed in business attire. We'll see. I can't wait to see her though. I didn't really get to talk to her at the play, so I'll probably be seeing a bit of her over Christmas break. It doesn't feel like I've only seen her once in the past 4 months. I talk to her on the phone a bit though. Jen, my sister, I miss you!!!!!
We all took a break from studying last week and went skating. That was so much fun. We bought sparklling champagne to celebrate Divya falling on his butt on the ice. Lots of fun. Wendy and I have decided to take figure skating as our gym class next semester.
Anyways, off to do (GASP) MORE STUDYING!!!! Gotta get ready for tonight. See y'all later!
