I primarily wasn't impressed with the "this should be easy, so I'm saying you ought to do it now" attitude. I mean, YT eligibility has never been easy. Certainly not when we have a major code change on our hands before signups can even start.
The thing is, I'd be glad to have this conversation... in January. Right now? It's already too late for this year. It was too late by the time nominations started. The system was already in place.
So yeah, the wanking makes me go O.o a bit. Except for the people who lost a fandom they nominated for what they feel aren't legitimate reasons, everyone else doesn't really have a stake in this. And those people have a complaint process to use. Many of them have even used it - successfully.
WELCOME TO MY HEAD. IT GOES ROUND AND ROUND IN CIRCLES. WANT A RIDE?
I GOT OFF, OKAY? I GET DIZZY AFTER A WHILE. ^o^
Most of the discussions about how much work the tag wranglers ended up is flocked, so I can't link, unfortunately.
Wow, even just the one was clear enough! I did assume a huge amount of work was going on in the background, which made me very reluctant to ask the mods to ask the wranglers to do anything. I checked my fandoms, nodded, and moved on.
Which makes me wonder how much mod firmness on these issues this year has to do with possibly trying to protect the wranglers from doing anything they don't absolutely have to.... *ponders*
Hey, btw, my house is really dusty. When did this happen?
IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET OFF? ... meeting up with each other and mating
Yeah, I read that that way. /facepalm/
Last January! I honestly wish someone had offered a genius plan last year after YT ended. This coming January also works, for next year. Anything in between mid-October and December 25 is... revealing a lack of awareness about how hard how many people are working right now and how little they need another monkey wrench thrown into the works. (Or should that be a spanner? Now I'm mixing my metaphors.)
I haven't seen to many other complaints/criticisms this time around, but I've been busy lately, so I probably just missed them.
