So today I went and saw Wicked...

Really, this is just to record so I remember.

Elphaba's voice, she was an understudy - Jemma Stevenson - but her voice was incredible. Just sublime. So warm and rich and sweet. I have never heard anyone sing Elphaba like that before, and it was beautiful.

The shadow at the start. First tears of the night! Oh Elphieeeeee.

I was watching Glinda in No One Mourns to see whether she was going to be a good Glinda, whether she understood what her character thought. When the citizens were watching her, she was all bubbles and smiles. But when they said cruel things about Elphaba, she made a face and shook her head.

Aaaaaaaaaah the shadooooooow

We had an understudy for Fiyero too. He was good, but not sublime. Glinda's voice was sooooooo squeaky and annoying.

Except for during parts of, say, Thank Goodness, when she could stop pretending. Her voice was lovely too, but not like Elphaba's. Oh, but she made you feel for the little pink witch.

Glinda speaking out during March of the Witch Hunters. You could see how far in over her head she was and how she didn't know how to stop anything.

When Fiyero is taken away on the pole, the entire audience went '...*GASP* NO!'

What Is This Feeling and the two witches having a conversation with their hands as well as their song, making it so...so schoolgirl.

There was a drumroll as Elphaba stood up as the Wicked Witch. I had so been hoping for one.
