(no subject)
I can't sleep. My head hurts and I am pretty tired but I can't sleep. I have rage issues in general and I am pretty fucking angry tonight. Everytime I lay down to sleep I just get angry all over again. I received a letter tonight, sometime after 9, slipped under my door. Delivered by my property manager I suppose. Whoever it was didn't even bother to knock or talk to me, they just left this letter.
Dear Resident,
The Apartment below you was damaged by water from your apartment. We do not know the exact date because the resident below was out of town when it happened.
Due to your negligence we are holding you responsible for the damages done to the apartment below. It was not caused by any of the building pipes or anything of that nature.
Your account will be charged $141.94 for them having to seek shelter somewhere else and plaster repairs in the amount of $390.00.

About two weeks ago they came and asked me if I had any leaks or anything in here. I told them no. They told me there was water damage in the apartment below me. I again said there was nothing here that could be causing it and asked if they were sure it was the apartment under mine. They said they'd double check and never returned. Of course, two weeks before that I got to host workmen in my apartment all day as they used the access panel in my bathroom to feed in new copper pipe to the apartment below me for who knows what reason.
So now I have a letter written by someone with the professionalism of a 12 year old (any pipes or anything of that nature? very technical). They haven't been in here to check anything, they have just decided that I am at fault and want to charge me $550. I left a seething voice mail and I guess will have to start fighting tomorrow. Of course, that would work better on rest but what can I do.
