The Resolute: One Week Later

Jul 09, 2010 17:06

If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you know I've been gushing about my new 2008 Honda Fit Sport (named the Resolute) which I got last Thursday after returning the Sentra back to Nissan, so I felt the need to write one big blog post to just get it all out there. ;) I've driven the thing allll over SoCal, from the south bay to the Valley, and all I can say is...I love it.

I've honestly never been happier with a car than I am for the Fit, nor have I cared so much for a car before. I just spent decent money on floor mats...FLOOR MATS people. I'm also considering getting a "dead petal" so I have a better spot to put my left foot. As comfy as the seats in the Fit are, the "carpeting" on the floor is a tad thin, so my left foot actually begins to get annoyed after a spell. Honestly though? That's the only complaint I have with the car, and it'll be fixed soon.

She is soooooo much fun to drive it's silly. I'm still getting used to driving her, because the same amount of gas pedal pressure it took to make the Sentra just go makes the Fit just fly. I'm still learning how to properly hold down the pedal so she doesn't rev up too much, so I can be easy on the engine and conserve gas. If I DO have to rev her up for quick maneuvers though, she's on top of it in a heartbeat. Thankfully the brakes are much easier than the Sentra and take a lot less getting used to...and hell, they don't make noise either! *knocks wood* She's also super responsive in the steering department. She has a wonderful grip on the road, and I feel totally at ease merging in and out of traffic (which is a godsend here in LA). I swear it's like driving a fun, comfortable go-cart in terms of responsiveness. She's like an A-Wing fighter for chrissake. :)

I've also already personalized her a bit with some Serenity window decals, and I already have a Supernatural decal (the tattoo symbol) and a license plate frame (Driver Picks the music...) on the way. I'll probably do even more to her in the months to come to make her more my own.

So yeah, I've never been happier or felt more in tune with any of the cars I've owned. The difference between the Fit and the Sentra alone is like night and day, let alone the difference between the Fit and all my previous cars, which were all much, much larger and American built as well. I'm so happy with the Fit it's just silly, and driving her is so, so, so much less stressful than the Sentra with all of her problems. Now I wanna make excuses to take road trips down to San Diego and up to San Francisco to visit friends, just so I can drive the car even more. ;)

Anyway, just wanted to share my happiness with y'all. Hope you're having a lovely day, and thanks for reading. :)
