Wow - Hero of My Lai, Hugh Thompson, Died
I know this is a few months late, but I'm so stunned I had no idea. I'm also really bummed out about it...
In the Vietnam War, a massacre took place at a little village called My Lai, where U.S. soldiers killed hundreds of civilians. The body count would have been higher if not for a helicopter crew led by Hugh Thompson. I've read books about both the massacre and Thompson himself, and his story is both moving and inspiring.
