Since Kelly and I had watched two Buffy eps on our previous viewing night, we started last night by watching two Angel eps, and WOW what a way to start the night. Here goes...
Reprise (Angel):
beerbad had mentioned something about this being one of the amazing three "R" episodes this season, and she was so right. This episode was AMAZING. The ENDING, after the elevator ride, just punched me in the GUT. This ep also had some amazing scenes, my favorite being in the Karaoke bar with the other Lawyers and how they just SO WANTED to kill Angel. I also loved the scene in the book store, but felt SO BAD for the owner. I also felt bad for Wesley in this ep, since he had some bad crap happen to him (and I'm gonna miss Virginia). That whole elevator ride with Holland Manners, though...pure awesome. :)
Epiphany (Angel): I loved, loved, loved this episode. There was so much simple beauty in this episode, like Angel saving Kate, Angel having a great conversation with the Karaoke host, Angel trying to reconnect with his team, the whole SCENE with Lindsay and his truck. I totally loved this episode. I felt so bad for Angel because you could see him REALLY TRYING to reconnect with Wesley, Gunn, and Cordy, and they were having none of it. I also loved how even Kate realized Angel was able to come into her place without being invited. I REALLY loved when Angel said he wanted to work FOR Wesley, Cordy and Gunn rather than the other way around. It shows that he's really willing to change, and I loved it.
Forever (Buffy): Another tear-jerker of an episode, ESPECIALLY at the end. OMG I was in tears when Buffy and Dawn started crying. I felt so bad for BOTH OF THEM, because they're both trying so hard to hold onto reality and having such a hard time of it. I also loved Spike in this episode. I felt so bad when he came by the house with flowers, and Xander just dismissed him out of turn. You could tell he was being SO SINCERE, that he actually DID like Joyce for the reasons he stated, and he just wanted to pay his respects. I find myself becoming very surprised with where Spike's character is going. I was also shocked and touched by Angel's appearance in this episode, and thought it was very beautifully done. I also love how Giles is taking on the fatherly role so well, especially since Buffy's real dad is MIA right now. Overall, an amazing episode.
Disharmony (Angel): Okay, I'm gonna admit it, I think David Fury is my favorite writer in the Buffyverse. EVERY SINGLE EPISODE he writes I find myself enjoying immensely and at times laughing hysterically, and this episode was no different. The whole conversation with Cordelia and Willow KILLED me. The vampire pyramid-scheme had me in STITCHES. I was ROLLING at that. I also wasn't surprised when Harmony went all bad at the end, but Cordy's behavior really astounded and amazed me. She was cool in battle and compassionate as well. I also loved how Angel was trying to reconnect with her for the whole episode, and how awkward he was with her. The ending, though, where he bought her new clothes, totally had me rolling.
Overall, some FANTASTIC episodes last night, and I gotta say, both of these seasons of Buffy and Angel are just fantastic. We're getting close to the end of 'em though, which kinda saddens me, but I'm REALLY excited to see how they end. :) Thanks for coming along this journey with me. :)
