Wow, what a fantastic weekend I just had. I spent it with Kelly, Browncoats AND the Corbin folks, so it was the best of all worlds!
Friday: I went over to Kelly's and we had a nice nap. After that we headed over to Corbin Bowl for the first time in a couple of months, and had a blast. Most of the gang was there, like Ken, Chris, Michael D,
sweet_insurgent,
markbt73 and so on. I sang a couple of songs, but since I hadn't sung in a while my voice was kinda rusty. We had a great time singing and playing DDR, which I still need to get better at. :)
Saturday: We slept in a bit and then spent much of the day watching Buffy and Angel. I finally got to see the episode everyone told me about (well, one of them anyway...) called "Fool For Love." Wow, this was just an AMAZING episode, and I was totally floored by how amazing it was. I really, really felt for Spike in this one, as well as Buffy and Dawn. The first encounter between Buffy and Spike after Spike's dream was priceless. Angel also had some amazing episodes, such as Darla. Overall, it was a LOT of great episodes.
Then that night we met up a bunch of people from NorCal such as
lexigeek,
elite, and Arielle as well as
danregal and Lynn for dinner at our friend Denise's restaurant, Alegria on Sunset. This place is near downtown LA, and if you haven't gone there, YOU NEED TO. The food there is amazing and we had a wonderful time. I also got my new toy, the Archos AV300 (which I am totally gaga over). After dinner we all drove over to Hollywood and Highland so we could walk over to La Cantina. Sadly, Kelly wasn't feeling well, so we said our goodbyes and I drove Kelly home (stopping to get some Ginger Ale along the way for her tummy). We then went to sleep.
Sunday: I left Kelly's around 11 AM since she said she needed some "me time" and wanted a day to herself to recenter herself. While I missed spending time with her, I wouldn't be a good boyfriend if I didn't do what was necessary for her well being, so I left and went home for a little while. I then went over to my friend Ken's place, and we watched my new Brian Regan DVD (which he loved) as well as some other stuff. We then went to see Children of Man, which has to be one of the most amazing movies I've ever seen in my life. It was just incredible, and if you haven't seen it, well then by gum, you should.
After the movie we went back to Ken's place and tried to watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but Ken's DVD player kept mucking up, so after several tries to watch the movie with no success, I went home and read the third book in the Dresden Files, "Grave Peril," until I fell asleep.
So overall, a wonderful weekend spent with some of the most important people in my life. :) I hope you also had a shiny weekend. :)
