Okay, now this is what I was wanting to see. LiveJournal should recognize that their policies are fucked, and while I'm not entirely happy with the fence-straddling language, it is a good sign. I also really like the EFF-part of that since what I've seen of their group has been good.
What I don't like, however, is that there is still no explanation of how this all happened in the first place. "We dropped the ball" is not an explanation. Those users who were personally affected especially deserve an explanation, but so does the community at large.
