Cartoon Network is a very interesting thing. It seems as though it's always getting further and further from it's roots, especially nowadays with all these new reality shows. However, I was watching a Flapjack episode today and noticed it was a marathon. This didn't mean anything to me at first, but then I saw the commercial break starter. It was that character they have that turns into different characters when paint hits it collecting a bunch of landmarks from CN's shows, and at the end it says, "Super Chunk". Immediately it hit me that this wasn't a marathon, it was a real Super Chunk.
For those of you who don't know or remember, sometimes in the 90's, on a Saturday or Sunday usually, Cartoon Network would have nonstop episodes of a specific show for a couple hours. It was called Super Chunk, and it was usually "hosted" or at least characterized by a fat redheaded kid with checkered pants like the old logo.
Seeing this really made me happy, because despite all the new changes, an old idea broke through, and years later, I might add. This gives a sense of hope that perhaps some executive or member of the CN team is still looking for some tradition, and maybe will bring back some more classic CN programing.

Of course, chance of that is slim to none.

Here's a promo for the original Super Chunk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiNLruE7q2U
