Et tu Lung Cancer?
So it's confirmed.. I know I haven't talked about this but a little while back Dad had a spot found on his lungs. Sure enough, like we all figured, it's lung cancer. :(
The tumor is only 7mm in size though, so it's really tiny, usually they miss tumors that are less that 1cm in size so it's very lucky. Dad was having some chest pains around his left lung and decided to get a CT Scan for it. Nothing was found there, but this little bugger on his right lung decided to show up. A P.E.T. Scan and biopsy later and it was confirmed just this past Friday. He's gone for a lung-test now. To test his lung capacity and stuff. He should be back soon though. He's taking it rather well imo. Oh yes, and he's finally working on quitting smoking! He's using Chantix as his aide of choice. And it seems to be helping at least. He's down to less than 1 pack a day so far. He used to burn through about 2 packs a day. He's been smoking for about 47 years.
The tumor is on the bottom of his right lung so they shouldn't have to take out much, which means he should retain most of his lung capacity.
The reason for the subject line is, well as you know my Dad is a hemophiliac. So he bleeds really easily and it put him through all sorts of hell in his youth. On top of that there've been other medical bothers too. And now this, yet one more thing to add to the pile. That's what I meant by it. I hope I quoted it right at least. :p
Sorry it took me so long to get to commenting on the comments for my previous posts. And thank you so very much to those of you that commented. I've been VERY tired this weekend. I bruised or strained something in my right triceps/shoulder area in work last week and I just haven't been able to get myself to do much more than check e-mail and junk.
I did go out Saturday night and came across an acquaintance from last year. He was in town for a funeral unfortunately and was pretty bombed. Can't blame him for wanting to try to kill the pain. :\ So we really didn't have much of a conversation. But it was nice seeing him again.
No new art dumps or anything else really to report. I have to go to work tomorrow and I don't wanna. :p A friend recently told me that "work is Latin for drag". She's so right. lol
I don't know if I'll get to my f-page today or not so in advance I hope you've all been well this past week and I'll try to catch up best as I can.
I hope everyone got their cards. I've heard back about 2 of them so far. Glad you guys liked them. ;D I tried to personalize pick them for each of you.
It's snowing, we've got about 4 inches so far. I'm so glad I didn't have to go into work today. Last time it snowed I pulled a 180 ON THE HIGHWAY and ended up skidding backwards off the road, down an 8ft ditch.(No injuries though thankfully)
I guess that's all for now. I've gotta make a couple phone calls and run an errand or two.
