Ha! Shows what they know. I've thought 'the open sea' was bloody scary ever since I was little - probably due to books of unsolved mysteries with lines like:
'...Examination of the log revealed that the Jenny had been imprisoned in the ice for 37 years. The last entry, signed by the captain, read: "May 4th, 1823. No food for 71 days. I am the only one left alive."'
...or:
'...The distress calls continued meanwhile, until there came an alarming message: "All officers including captain dead, lying in chartroom and on bridge...Probably whole crew dead." This was followed by a series of dots and dashes that made no sense and then the words, "I die." After this, silence.'
Looking back, I think I must've escaped growing up Goth by this much...
