May 6th, 2008 - 10:21 P.M.
Apologies for not keeping this thing up to where it should be. I've had quite a rollercoaster of events over the last week, as is the case with every finals week in college. Both of them for me were filled with disgust, anger, studying and an irresistable urge to dive into the nearest pool of Kool-Aid.
College, folks. College.
So apart from the 4 A.M. nights (Which are still going on, I haven't gotten my body timeclock to readjust....you honestly knew this was coming...tangent.) Seriously, what is it with our bodies that cannot tell shit for time? Why is it that I feel like I can move a 16 ton boulder at 2:30 A.M., yet at 10 A.M., I can't even lift a hand without feeling like I've run the Boston Marathon? Say what? Evolution may have given us great brains and cognition, but we need some work in the adrenaline department. I feel as if adrenaline is released around 1 A.M. for me, especially if I'm working on an assignment or typing up another entry for the blog here...there should be some sort of vitamin that helps. At the moment, I am taking a supplement, all natural, so don't gasp and call me an addict. It helps me get to sleep and quell that energy blast I randomly get around this time of the night, so that's the end of that tangent.
Anyway, my exams were decent, save Mathematics, but since it is my weak spot, I honestly didn't expect to do well in the first place. I got a C in that class, the only bruise on what was another good semester, two A's and a B+. My GPA I believe is around a 3.3, but next year I should bounce back to a 3.5 if all goes well. I plan to dedicate myself a lot more, as I have a much better idea how to balance my schedule and make sure there's ample time for studying and having my fun or simply taking a day off and sip some Budweiser (I'm out of Presidente...). When there's a will, there's a way, folks. Never forget.
I haven't really picked a major (I know a lot of you are definitely waiting for it) just yet. I have ideas, but I have to see if it's worth taking. The worst thing I feel I can do is waste time, and God knows how much I've wasted already. I think I'm just gonna firmly implant my focus into somewhere business-like, though I am bad with algebraic numbers, I'm actually pretty good at calculations and keeping tabs on money. How else do I manage to survive on my meager pay at work, lol? The only ptoblem I sometimes have when dealing with my finances is stumbling or misinterpreting an amount, especially concerning interest and how much I'm making. Not much, folks, I don't understand how the bank can deposit 0.8 cents into your account. I once got that amount in the beginning, and now it's an inside joke with my family - if I borrow some cash, they'll reply with "I think I'll give you point eight cents". It really DOES get on my nerves, especially if it's food I'm wanting to buy.
Another tangent there? Sorry. Then again, all blogs are somewhat on a tangent, whether it be some news or shit that happens in our lives...what else could I write to entertain? Oh yes, the Primaries.
So the race for the...wrecked Presidency - small off-topic - who in their right mind would want to take that job after Bush pretty much butchered it? Before he came into office, it had been a position of power, a highly respected public office. Everyone could say that being a President was an honor, and with Bush, we've seen the office deteriorate into a mess, and a laughing stock. Every night, I enjoy seeing David Letterman make fun of Bush and the Presidency. It's hella funny, even though the crimes and atrocities Bush has committed are no laughing matter/ The world even sees the position as a joke, so I must commend all of the candidates for wanting such a...nasty position. Out of the three, I have supported Obama from Day 1, because the other candidates are all-right, but as time goes on, I'm getting sick and tired of their biggest flaws. McCain's contradicting himself direly and dangerously, and I think he may try and actually follow Bush's example? He says yes to some of the bigger policies - like the War, which is another sad joke, and claims that the War is wrong. Definitely not a check in my book. I'm sorry, but America is no longer a world power. We need to pull out and let those people fend for thesmevles, we have enough problems to worry about domestically, looking at the economy and the fact it costs me 50 bucks to fill up a sedan. Now that's fucked up. Basically, NO to McCain, on top of all of that, the guy is 80, and represents a generation who are increasingly becoming useless and invalid. Definite x in my book. Nice guy, though.
Hillary is just...annoying. I can't put my finger on the biggest issue, and it isn't her gender. But she seems to willing to dig deep and dish so much dirt on Obama that it backfired on me and made me like Obama just that much more. Still, if she won, I'd pick her over McCain just for the future of this country. We cannot have another republican presidency if the middle class wants to survive and if we want this country to remain equal...or at least this level of inequality. Under McCain, the economy will probably stagnate a lot more, and the rich will likely get even richer. Back to the point, Hillary is an OK candidate, way more traditonal and actually has a better healthcare plan than Obama.
Obama is my man, just because of his youth and call for change. Usually, politicans say change and the status quo dominates for the next 500 years, just ask France. But Obama I think knows that if he doesn't get change, not even the Secret Service could protect him from being shot at any public appearance. Sadly, the freedom fighters, the liberal geniuses, the rebels, the presidents that actually have a decent presidency have a tendency to get shot in the face. Ask JFK and Lincoln they'll likely agree. Obama would be the first black president and I have a feeling a nation that has been traditonally racist may have one guy crazy enough to try and assasinate him. That's the only thing I fear for, but the Secret Service has an insane reputation...but never trust security, after all, it was India's legendary Indira Ghandi's two bodyguards who shot her 33 times in the back....
That's the most political thing I've written in awhile. The point was to the primaries - I think Hillary will take Indiana and Obama takes North Carolina, keeping this race in a dead heat. Honestly, if they keep battling each other rather than McCain, people will get sick of it and vote McCain, even though there will be ten more names on the ballot, and that actually worries me a lot more than anything I may have mentioned before.

Completely different topic, what am I doing this Summer? Work, chill and that sounds about right. I'm still looking for tickets to New York City, but that is for another blog itself. Stay safe.
