my long weekend

For once, I had a relaxing weekend despite the overwhelmingness (yes, it's a new word) of school. I got off work on Thursday, worked out with my bridal boot camp workout buddy, then did a whole lot of nothing. My roomie who does UFC was around until Friday afternoon until she got word that somebody covered her shift so she went home. But before she did, we watched some Dr. 90210 and a show on eating disorders before she passed out on the futon and me on the couch. It was cool cause I would never dream of doing that last year with...well, yeah. I don't feel like getting into that. She apparenlty went to her room around 2:30 in the morning, i finally got to bed at 4. Slept in late on Friday. Did some errands around town. Watched a movie with a buddy, then worked on some models that I have been meaning to since school started.

Saturday was the big day. I am all for supporting the troops and am active in the VFW even though I am not officially in it. So I helped out with the parade. While doing that, I had a fairly extensive interview with the paper so I have a feeling my story will get in there. The reporter I think was surprised that I do so much in the community, know so many of the VFW guys, the CWU AFROTC and AROTC. Then he found out that I have some people in Iraq now and wanted to know about them. Where I am from and how there and here compare. (E-burg=support like no other, Redmond=anti-war everything! huge difference). So I will find out tomorrow if I made it in there or not, kinda anxious. Had the BBQ at the fire department, talked with some members again of the VFW with my AFROTC buddy who is going to be a pilot. Then the two of us came back to my place, watched a couple movies, got a burger at Wing Central. Then I finished up some models and went to bed around 11.

Haven't done much today. Watched lots of football, did some homework, and am thinking about when I will be home again. I am thinking it wont be until Xmas. With the couple projects due, I don't think I will even go home for turkey. I'd love to, but I can't count my chickens on the pass especilly after last time I went home. So yeah. I am okay with that especially since my "adopted grandpa" invited me over to his house with his family for dinner. I am perfectly fine with that since he is cool and so is his whole family. His granddaughter is cool too. Anyway, that's what's up in E-burg. It's raining too. Yup...
