Tuesday, AU officially announced Daktronics would be the company installing Jordan-Hare Stadium's brand-new, $2.9-million, high-definition video display screen and scoreboard, which measures approximately 30-feet high by 74-feet wide. It will also be the first true HD screen in the SEC, according to Daktronics, and just the second in the NCAA to "invest in true high definition LED video capabilities" behind the University of Texas. The new video screen, which will be installed prior to the 2007 football season, is more than twice the size of the current board, which measures about 530-square-feet.
