Weird dream last week

I dreamed that I was in a semi-arid part of Utah. I was staying with a couple of old folks, relatives of one of my pals. I began to get thirsty. The tap water was out. They had a few bottles with a chalky fluid, the hardest water I've ever seen. But I didn't want to deprive these nice people of their stash.

So I went out and started driving around. No convenience stores anywhere. And drinking from the Great Salt Lake obviously wasn't going to be an option. I once went without food or water for three days -- I knew I could withstand it, but that sucked (to say the least) and I didn't want to push it. I found a hotel, dark and gloomy, a couple of concierges standing around not doing much, otherwise nothing was going on. There was a water fountain, but you could barely get a trickle out of it.

Then I found a restaurant. As I waited to be seated, I noted how still everyone was. Then it dawned on me - they were dead, and so was I. Then I remembered what to say: "There is no part of me that is not of the Gods. I have come for the Waters of Memory." I believe that in the original Orphic mysteries, there's a tree at the wellspring, but no biggie, that worked.

Then I realized I was dreaming. I woke up. My mouth was open because my nose was stopped up with allergies, and there was a fan in the room, so I had a bad case of dry mouth. I remembered that I had a soda in the fridge: Diet Coke with a bunch of extra flavoring syrup. So, now I am the proud owner of a 32 ounce styrofoam sacred chalice. Maybe I should keep it and make sure that it gets buried with me when the time comes? As for the dream, it feels like I won that level.
