The number was wrong. (I've seen numbers of '13/30 US Staff' from people I trust a lot more, but.) 13 is still a lot of people to have to let go, though; cutting deep sucks.

No, I don't think so. Still in capable hands. But interesting nonetheless, and worth knowing what is happening with LJ. (I wonder when they'll figure out that communicating these things in an open fashion is better for them -- this caused a lot of turmoil on twitter yesterday, and all they could come up with was http://livejournalinc.com/press_releases/20090106.php :))
