On 18 October 2006, I wrote a blog about Scarlett Johansson doing a solo album exclusively covering Tom Waits songs. Now the album is finally releasing 20 May 2008 and titled "Anywhere I Lay My Head".
The leaked mp3s have since been taken down (I've looked all over!), and the feedback has been mixed at best. Certainly, covering Tom Waits is risky business, even for a sexy flower of a woman like Scarlett Jo.
Interestingly, the album was produced by David Sitek (TV on the Radio) and features contributing artists David Bowie and Nick Zinner. I hope I can like it, but really can't say anything else until I give it a listen. I'll update once I do.
