1. basketball:
   I first got interested in basketball in 1978 when KATV in Little Rock began live TV broadcasts of Arkansas Razorbacks basketball games. It was during the Eddie Sutton years when the team began to make a name for itself. I then began playing basketball in elementary school, mostly with church leagues. I became a fan of my alma mater's team (UALR Trojans) in the mid 90's and I continue to this day. I am the webmaster of littlerocktrojans.com, a fan website for the team.
2. brewpubs:
   I like beer, I am a homebrewer and I like to visit brewpubs--those combination brewery-restaurants. My favorite is Vino's in Little Rock, AR. Best calzones on earth, and the Lazy Boy stout is excellent.
3. cool edit:
   Cool Edit is a digital audio recording and editing software originally distributed as shareware by a company called Syntrillium. I use it to clean up old analog audio recordings and to do simple recording of spoken word material suc as poetry readings and meditiation programs. Cool Edit per se is no more, Syntrillium sold out to Adobe and the Cool Edit line of products now go by the name Adobe Audition.
4. fireworks:
   I was literally born on the 4th of July, so I naturally LOVE blowing things up. Fireworks were a very, VERY IMPORTANT part of my childhood.
5. homebrew competitions:
   I brew my own beer and routinely enter the beers into homebrew competitions. Beers are judged by beer experts, some that are even certified by an organization caled the BJCP. So far I have won one medal, a second place (silver) for my Blonde Ale that everybody seems to enjoy.
6. julia stiles:
   I was at a former coworkers' house several years ago and the film "Down to You" was playing on the TV. The very classy, blonde actress was playing the female lead and she really caught my attention. She's really good and has a good head on her shoulders. I also enjoyed her performance in "10 Things I Hate About You", loosely based on Taming Of the Shrew, by you-know-who. She's purty:)
7. music:
   I like many styles of music, I am a hard rock/Progressive fan, raised on Led Zep, Def Leppard, Boston, Styx, Rush....I like some more "modern" or what used to be called "alternative" stuff, so i'm not a comptete reverse music snob. I play bass guitar and I like to play with analog synthesizers, such as my ailing ARP Odyssey.
8. real ale:
   Real ale is a british tradition. It is beer that has been put into casks and allowed to age a bit. It is served without CO2 pressure at "cellar temerature--55 degrees F" and must be consumed within a day or two before it spoils. This is the way beer was served before moder kegging and bottling was introduced. There is a movement in Britain to save this traditional practice. There are many brewpubs who serve some of their ales in this fasion and it is quite good.
9. sun belt conference:
   the sun belt conference is the conference of my favoraite college basketball team, the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans.
10. weather:
    I have always enjoyed learning about the weather. Snow, storms and tornadoes facinate me.
