Weather is invigorating

I went out for a 5 mile loop I have from work yesterday. It was in the low 60's at 4:00 in the afternoon. The season could be summed up by the sun setting rapidly in the west. It's freakin' 4:30-5:00 and the sun has set. And the days are to get shorter yet ! Well, the prediction for this weekend is high temp.'s in the low 30's. I'll be busy indoors.

The loop I run goes down a steep hill, about 1.5 miles of fairly flat before rising and rising and rising, with short stretches of flat areas in between. Then it's a gradual uphill before returning down gradually. I did have to walk for a minute in the middle of the rises, but finished strong. And tired. A good tired. I expected to be sore in the quads today, but I was pleasantly surprised. And regardless of what is debated, I still stretch after a run and feel better for it. Do what works for you.

I am still trying, with the best intentions, to lose wieght over the holidays and keep losing until I can plateau at a weight that was workable 3-4 years ago. And I want to race again. Carrying extra pounds does not help my training or my overall time. I'm working hard and I must say that I feel hungry sometimes, but I don't have a certain food that I'm looking to devour. Peanut butter works to satisfy the craving. It's not always handy (like at work)and not I'm hungry for, but it does the trick. All natural, by the way. I need the additives. Any opinions ?
