The Epic Baking Adventures of BrettW

Last week, on a whim, I made a cake. It was a lemon loaf cake and was quite nice. It had a thin lemon glaze and wasn't too sickly. We had a guy around for dinner so we had it as dessert. Verdict was good.

Since he's coming back again tonight, I decided to make another cake. Somehow at the shops we bought marshmallows and I was destined to make a marshmallow cake (not something I was opposed to). I thought a bit and I was going to make a chocolate sponge and put a little bit of marshmallow frosting on top. Already pretty sickly sweet, but hey, it's dessert.

So the sponge recipe I used made too little, and the frosting recipe I used made too much. So basically I made a big chunk of sugar with some flour and cocoa sprinkled through. The frosting sang to me, siren-like and I had some. It was essentially sugar, water, egg whites and marshmallows. But really people, it was liquid death.

So my cake (which turned out thin :( ) is now in the fridge with a bucket of death on top. I think I'm going to go into a sugar coma from eating the frosting. I dunno if I can have a slice later on.

If I don't make it through the night, tell my parents to stay away from my computer.
