Tonight, I went to a scholarship dinner for an endowed scholarship that I received earlier this year. At each table were some recipients and some donors. I happened to be seated as far as possible from the donors at my table, but that was fine, because I was seated right next to a very interesting girl...whose name I've pretty much forgotten.
Anyway, this chick was a fourth year, but just graduated in December with a degree in Social Work. Now she's volunteering with AmeriCorps, doing counseling stuff in a middle school.
While talking to her, I was struck by the passion with which she spoke. I could not get over how passionate she is about helping kids and families and really doing good stuff. She has a tremendously expressive face, and you could see how interested she is in her work.
I love listening to people talk about what they love. I love hearing people talk about what lights their fire. Though that phrase is cliched, I think it's also very appropriate. You can see an inner fire that burns brighter when someone talks about something they love.
My favorite part about TBS is the interviews. Interviewing the MCs is so exciting, and I think I finally realized why: I get to find out their passions.
I'm seriously just rambling now. I should go to bed.
But, I want to know: What are you passionate about?
