You know when you're in a relationship and only you know it's over? How about when you're both on exactly the same page?
I came home last night and we both wanted to talk. For months, there has not been enough passion to keep our relationship going and not enough anger or resentment to break it up. Our mutual decision is that we have become friends. We have enough in common to still enjoy each other's company and conversation. As such, we've decided to remain roommates. Whether this decision proves to be a wise one remains to be seen. I think that we're both being realistic and mature enough about this that if it proves to be a poor choice we will both understand and make new arrangements.
Though things didn't work out for us, I consider my relationship experience with David to have been a positive one. I would gladly write a letter of recommendation.
Of course, I am still in a transitional state in my life and now even my immediate future is that much less clear. But I don't really have a problem with that.
