We're still in the race

Dear diary,

Hi! Okay okay. I have to clarify some things. I don't really want to quit baseball and I don't hate the game. I like baseball. I like it a lot. We won today and it totally brought back my love for the game! I definitely think it was the season turnaround we've been waiting for. Okay, diary? I'm writing this because once again my emotions got me in trouble. I had to sit through a 20 minute meeting with No, Omar, LaTroy, Mikey, Niek, Munt, Tuck, Ray, Fonz, JT, Schmidtty and Ty about our use of "blogs" (it's funny to hear Felipe say "blogs" with the finger quotes and everything) and how "some of us" have written about how we don't like playing baseball even though we are supposed to be spreading a positive message about how the team is "still in the race" and how "it's a long season" and "you never know." So yea, basically everyone got in trouble because of me and what I wrote in a moment of sorrow, and everyone was mad at me and Schmidtty, Mikey and Ty were like "We haven't updated our LJs in months, why do we have to be here??" And now I'm pretty sure Schmidtty is going to prank me something awful. I'll need to be extra vigilant.

SO, I'd like to take this opportunity to remind any fans reading this here diary that the Giants are only 6.5 games back and the West is up for grabs. Don't ever forget that it's a long season. We still have 2 months to go and anything can happen. If we can start stringing some wins together, you never know. So be sure to buy some tickets and come on out to the ballpark, fans! Buy a cha cha bowl! Check out the Neifi chickens! Woo go team!

Now that I have that ridiculous nonsense sincere interlude about our playoff hopes out of the way... remember how I hurt my foot in my start against the Marlins when someone hit a line drive off me? I've been trying to be brave but it's still hurting, diary. So the other day when I couldn't cover first base in time to get the third out that was because of my limited mobility, not because of my being a headcase who likes to sabotage myself like LaTroy some people said. I might miss my next start against Roger Clemens AKA Tomko loss #12 on account of the foot. Anyway I was watching Little House on the Prairie earlier on the Hallmark Channel and I saw this great commercial. It said if you have limited mobility you can get a Hoveround from the Scooter Store for practically free! I think it would really kick ass to have a Hoveround and I definitely have limited mobility. Also I'm not sure if you have diabetes, diary, but if you do, did you know your diabetes testing supplies could be covered by Medicare? Bet you didn't. The Hallmark Channel is really helpful for that kind of info.

Uhmmm, anyway. I think Diagnosis Murder is on right now so I'm gonna go watch that and have some pizza bagels. Being a professional baseball player sure is fun, diary!

Love,

Brett
