My sister's keeper

"I didn't come to see Kate because it would make me feel better," she says. "I came because without her, it's hard to remember who I am."

It is the story of Anna, who was made to save her dying sister. It is the story of Kate, who wishes she could have had a normal life. It is the story of Sara and Brian, who had to make the most difficult choice of their lives. It is the story of Jesse, who wishes he could have done more. It is the story of Campbell, who spent his life trying to hide who he really was.

I know some of you have read this book already, and I am sure they will agree with me if I say that this novel is the most poignant thing I have ever read. I can think of very few books that made me cry, but this one certainly did. The story is powerful, it forces you to think of what you'd have done and what you think is the best thing to do. Knowing that most of the time, you won't even find an answer to the questions. Sometimes you truly hate the characters, sometimes you can't help but feeling for them. Every one of them has his flaws and his weaknesses, but all of them are so incredibly strong it is fascinating. It's a book you can't forget. It is sad, it is funny, it is moving and it is thought-provocating. It's a book everybody should read. If you have read and liked "The lovely bones", you will like "my sister's keeper".

To know more about the book... &

Kids think with their brains cracked wide open; becoming an adult, I've decided, is only a slow sewing shut.

Maybe who we are isn't so much about what we do, but rather what we're capable of when we least expect it.

But if you took every memory, every moment and stretched them out end to end, - they’d reach forever.

It is the things that you cannot see coming that are strong enough to kill you.

PS : I also watched the movie "Waitress" last night, which I highly recommend too !

PPS : Katie (katiesangels), better late than ever Happy birthday sweetie ! ♥ ♥
