I was looking through some of my old works earlier today, and honestly the only appropriate word to describe them is "ugh." They're not awesome, my characters don't even know what dimension is, and I clearly wasn't feeling what I was writing.
But I found a little gem that fit that style of writing so perfectly . . . a little piece of beautiful slapstick that made me laugh out loud, even though I was the one who'd written it.
It's a Snape/Lily pairing, written before we "knew" for sure that Snape had any feelings for her. Point of view shifts among the Marauders and the main pairing. Highlights are loud, noisy mock-duels, backfired pranks, food fights, Peter in a dress, James in drunken despair, and some generally funny bits here and there.
And I'm gonna post it. :P
You have been warned.
