I want to hurt someone
I want to scream at someone
but I'm not sure who I am supposed to get angry with
Lets explain the steps to what leads to my anger shall we?
1. Last year, in October, I bought an XBox 360 for Mike, a combo birthday/anniversary/christmas present. That cost me around 600 bucks, with the warrantee.
2. Fast forward a month and a half ish ago. I break the X Box.. accidentally of course. I put in a disk when there was already one there. (easy to do when you have the system in a vertical position instead of horizontal,(which is preferable because of the heat it generates)). So now nothing will load, no games, no dvds, no nothing.
3. So we bring it to Future Shop. Thats where I bought it and therefore assumed that they would honor the warrantee and fix it. But no, its still under the one year Microsoft warrantee so we need to call them.
4. Call Microsoft, they send us a box that we are supposed to use to send the system back in.
5. Get a call from Puralator ... they need our buzz code, okay whatever.
6. Box gets here, few days pass, Mike loads up box with system (just the base of the system, we didnt include the hard drive or any of the extra stuffs).
7. We drop off the box at the Canada Post/Puralator drop off centre in the Variety Store across the street. Mike gets the Tracking Number, and ask for a receipt, and the guy says he can't give him a receipt because the package was pre-paid for, (Microsoft had sent a large sticker thing with all the post stuff on it that he stuck to the box) he asked again if the guy was sure we couldn't get a receipt and yeah he was sure.
8. We wait 3 weeks
9. Call Microsoft, they haven't received it yet but they say it may take another week or so.
10. Call Microsoft again, they still haven't got it. They recommend we call Puralator.
11. Call Puralator. The tracking number is not in their system. Thats bad. Now we have a case file open at Puralator so they can look into what went wrong.
12. After a couple days of being on the phone with Puralator and Microsoft both, we find out that because we didn't get a receipt, Microsoft won't give us a new one (they have insurance with Puralator in case things get lost like that... but not in this case).
13. Go to the place across the street today, to make sure that they just didnt forget to send it, and the same guy who took the package from Mike origanly, explained that they have to have their back room or whatever empty by the end of the night. Therefore he assures us that it was sent.
14. Go to the Puralator distribution centre across town, and they say that because the tracking number was not in the system, they never got it.
So somewhere between point A and B, it disappeared. Gone. Poof.
And no one can do anything about it cause that fucking guy didn't give Mike a receipt.
So we decide today that we should just cut our losses. We wanted to go and buy a core system (one that doesn't come with a hard-drive, just the system, the cables and a wired controller) but after visiting EB Games, Wal-Mart, Entertainment Overload, and Best Buy, we were told by all of them that Microsoft doesn't make that system anymore.
I am mad and I dont know who to be mad at. Hell I am even mad at Microsoft for not making that system anymore.
I think all in all, I am mad at whoever told that guy across the street that he wasn't to give out receipts. But its so hard to focus my anger on someone I don't even know exists.
I am mad, frustrated, and kind of violated. It pisses me off that just becuase they dont have the tracking number in their system, they automatically assume they didnt get it. Shouldnt the truck drivers have a scanner thing? Or keep some sort of paper record of what they pick up? For that matter shouldnt the variety store keep the same kind of record as well? Not everything should be reliant upon the system working properly.
And because we don't have that fucking reciept there is the suspicion in the back of all these peoples minds that we are liars.
AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH
