Finished "True at First Light," by Ernest Hemingway last night. I loved it. It's his "slightly fictionalized" journals from his extensive safari in Kenya with his fourth wife, Mary.
This book is different from typical Hemingway -- for one, it is about 500 pages long. All of Hemingway's delightful attention to detail is there, but the style is more relaxed and less stylized. I liked being able to get more into the head of this writer and see what some of his more casual writing is like, and his thoughts about the writing process. The sprinkling of Swahili and the characters he meets reminded me of my trip. Plus, it was my before-bed book and nothing really beats dreaming about African safari.
